Adithi and Varun’s wedding (aka #thegoaforestwedding), which was held in a gorgeous villa tucked in the forests of Goa is jaw droppingly beautiful, and will want you to get married (if you’re already married, then you’re sure to want another wedding like this…or maybe that’s just me), just for the party. Theirs was an intimate affair, the sort of anti-big fat desi wedding, but the more I see weddings like these, the more I’m convinced that this is the only way to wed (also, this wedding had doggies in it, and therefore is my favourite wedding on the site right now)
Adithi and Varun got together in the most tamil film of ways, starting with a wrong number, which, as she says “turned out to be right!”, and culminating into a relationship of ten years before Varun popped the question.
Warning you before you scroll through the photos right now – these photos might make you spend an extra three hour on Pinterest today because this wedding is #ALLTHEGOALS
My dad and his girlfriend own the villa in Goa – it’s a 110 year old Portuguese family home of Maria. Varun & I went there on vacation 2 years ago, and we were having a bonfire with the family in the backyard (which is this lovely forest), and decided if we ever get married, it would be here, right in the middle of this forest. My dad was brilliant and did most of the planning, we put up our family and friends at the Royale Assagao (who also did the catering). My dad is an architect, so right from the giant bulbs, the Mason jars with flowers and origami paper cranes, it was a Pinterest dream come true. As a graphic designer myself, we had very specific designer touches which my dad, my sister, my friends and my mum put together. The best part of the entire wedding was how friend-sourced it was, right from the paper crafts, to picking wild flowers barefoot and stringing fairy lights, it really felt like something our friends put together – it was such a group effort and we are so humbled by it!
